Purged
What does it mean to be purged? It carries the idea of being free from
sin, guilt, or defilement.
It also means to be {clear} by the removal of impurities and to be {refined}
which means bringing something into perfection or completion.
When we understand the meaning of those words, we realize that God
expects us to be a church without spot, wrinkle, blemish or any thing that can defile us; because God wants us to build a
habitation so that He can dwell among us; a proper study of the tabernacle of Moses and the way the furniture and all the
parts were overlaid with gold is a symbol of God’s holiness and separation from all impure things; for all my years
in Church and ministry; I have realized that many of us think we have it together, and we are so close; after studying the
bible and understanding who God is and what He expects of us, we miss it by far.
1Ch 28:18 And for the altar of incense
refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubim’s, that spread out their wings, and
covered the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
As we have explained before concerning the importance of being purged
or refined, here we see the temple of the Lord being built; and the requirement is that the altar of incense and the cherubim’s,
must be built with refined or pure gold to cover the ark of the covenant, this is very significant for the N.T. believer because
we are the temple of the Holy Spirit; and if we are going to be used in a very special way by the master, it is important
that we be a refined vessel; that’s why John said that the one coming after him will give the Holy Spirit and will purge
His people with fire, therefore God is in the business of purifying His people to make them as pure gold.
Very important; many people want to be used by God in a very special
way but don’t want to go through the fire of preparation, Moses went through it, Jesus went through it, even Joseph
went through it so why don’t you.
Everybody wants Jesus to come back; but let me burst your bubble;
He is only coming back for a church that is ready and matured, in your heart can you say Apostle James I am ready? Like Apostle
Paul have you finished your work here on earth? I doubt, so come into alignment with God’s order and be purged so that
you can fulfill your purpose for being here on earth.
1Ch 29:4 Even three thousand talents of
gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses withal:
Many people think that because they are doing a lesser job than the
preacher or pastor; that they don’t need process; but here the scripture says that the silver must be refined before
being used in the house of the Lord; now silver which is lower than gold is indicative of the fact, that some ministerial
task are of a higher order; but in God’s sight all are equally important.
No matter what you do in ministry God expects process and excellence
from every person; don’t you think is because we are out of alignment in the house of the Lord that’s why we are
not blessed? I think this is something to be concerned about.
There is so much concerning this subject; and we are not through,
so keep checking our website for more on this study; I pray that God has blessed you through this lesson.
